Andy McIntosh
DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
INVESTIGATOR
Andy (Mac) McIntosh brings a diversity of professional and personal experiences to Lai & Turner Law Firm. Although not a licensed attorney, he possesses a breadth of experience such that he is indispensable to our overall firm operations. He wears multiple hats with Lai & Turner, including Business Manager and Investigator, both crucial roles to our success as a law firm.
Mac was actually lured out of retirement. After a ten-year career as a paramedic with the City of Toronto, Canada, in the 1970s and 80s, Mac returned to university where he majored in business law, contract law, labor law, and hospital administration.
Then, after working for the Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) of Ontario, Canada, as a vocational rehabilitation counselor, he left government service to start up his own paralegal firm.
His firm, “McIntosh, Covelli, and Associates” became the premiere firm in Ontario, mediating disputes between the WCB, injured workers, and employers. At his firm, Mac was responsible for investigating injured worker claims and presenting cases before both the internal WCB appeals system and external Workers’ Compensation Appeals Tribunal of Ontario. In six years, he never lost a case.
Then, in January 1997, Mac and his family emigrated to San Diego, California. There, Mac enjoyed success in the real estate profession, rising to Sales Manager, VP of Sales and Marketing, and eventually VP of Operations, for three different real estate firms between 1997 and 2009.
It was after the infamous 2008 nationwide meltdown of the real estate industry that Mac found success in the manufacturing sector, and after an eleven-year career as Director of Sales with QC Manufacturing, Inc., of Temecula, California, Mac retired in April, 2022, and moved with his family to Edmond, Oklahoma.
It was here, in 2023, that Jimmy Lai and Mac crossed paths, and today Mac is no longer retired. He says, “I wish a new career opportunity like this could have come along years ago. I am having so much fun working with two young law partners to help them grow their legal practice.
In his spare time spanning forty years, Mac has been an active volunteer in teen and adult recovery ministry, emergency services grief counseling, and family and marriage counseling. He is an ordained minister in the Reformed Church of America.
